Getting Back to Real Life....

We arrived back from Mexico late Friday Oct 18th, was no ready to come home and get back to "real life", LOL. We had such an awesome vacation with our friends from Tacoma, WA. It had been 2 years since we meet them and seen them, so we had so much fun spending the week together. I have a ton of pictures that I took, I will be sharing those soon with everyone. Well not all of them but some of them. :)

We are trying to get back into our normal routine of being home and working and all the fun stuff that we do everything, HAHA! I think we are mostly back to normal, but still wish we had more time on vacation with our friends.

It has been a while since I have actually blogged about things we have done, cooked and what not. I had so much going on when my Grandpa passed (cleaning out his house, calling people about his passing bill people and life insurance people etc....) that I didn't have time for hardly anything and I was just wore out and didn't feel like blogging at the time. Now that I'm back from vacation I'm finally getting everything wrapped up and to a close with my Grandpa.

My goal for this week is to hopefully have a couple blog post and get back into my normally blogging routine. So stayed tuned for pictures and details of our MX vacation! :)



Off to Mexcio we go!!!

I'm so excited that we are leaving for Mexico this morning!!

This vacation is much needed and I'm ready for some relaxing time of doing NOTHING!!!

We are meeting some friends down there we meet there in 2011. We have stayed in touch ever since but haven't seen them. We can't wait to hang out for a whole week with them!!

We will return to KC on Friday October 18th .



Weekend Recap

It's Monday again and another weekend has gone. I hope everyone had a good weekend! We had a pretty good weekend, I just wish they could be longer. :)

Friday: After I got off work we went to dinner at our normal Friday night place Fronteras. It's so yummy and a nice way to begin a weekend with yummy food and drinks. :) After dinner we headed back home and hung out on the deck for a little while and had a couple drinks. The rest of the night we just relaxed and watched some TV.

Saturday: We got up Saturday morning and headed out for our weekly grocery shopping. We came home and was getting stuff ready for the brisket Shane was going to smoke. I decided I needed to clean and organize the basement so I did, which didn't take super long, thank goodness. It wasn't super bad but just needed a good touch up. LOL

 After cleaning the basement I decided to check out plane ticket prices for MX. We will be going to Cabo again in October! They had a good deal on tickets so we bought them! I'm so excited for our trip and can't wait to leave! We will be meeting another couple there we meet a few years ago! So excited to see them and hang out for a week!

Shane got the brisket all ready and on the smoker. Doesn't it look yummy! It was very good. We had a friend, my sister and nephew over to hang out and have dinner with us that night.

Lexan and Me, I made him take some pictures with me. When I asked him if he wanted to take a picture he told me "No". LOL well he did it anyways. Isn't he a cutie! I just love him. 



Sunday: We did some chores around the house and relaxed most of the day. Shane got our new picture and candle holders hung up. They look so cute hung above our couch (I will post some pictures later). I just need to buy some candles for the holders and they will be completed. :)
I got a sweet tooth so I decided to bake something yummy. I will post the recipe later. For dinner we had Steak, Cheese & Bacon Potato Rounds, Corn on the Cob and Bread. The Cheese & Bacon potato rounds were a new recipe I tried. They turned out really good (Recipe to follow soon).

That concludes our fulfilled weekend. Now let's hope this work week goes by pretty fast!

Jasper, AR - 2012

This is our book from when we took a weekend trip to a Cabin in Jasper, Arkansas. We took this trip shortly after we moved into our house. It was such a fun trip and nice to just get away for a few days after hard work of getting our house together. :)

Arkansas Trip Part I

I'm a little behind on posting some pictures from our trip to Arkansas, but better late then never, right?! The second weekend in April Shane and I and another couple decided to take a little trip down to Mt. Judea, Arkansas a place called Sam's Throne for a rock climbing trip. Shane and his friend love rock climbing! They went down last year and said it was awesome, so this year the wives decided to go along and check it out. :) We headed out Thursday April 12th that morning and got down there around 5pm. We got camp set up and walked down to look at the scenery and it was amazing. It was so peaceful down there and I really enjoyed this trip.

Arkansas Trip

This year we aren't taking a big vacation,since we are working towards buying a house. So instead we decided to do a couple little trips. One trip is coming now we are leaving in Thursday morning. We are heading down to Mt. Judea, Arkansas for a rock climbing trip. My hubby loves to rock climb and he has a buddy that loves it as well. So we are all packing up and heading down and will be back on Sunday sometime. 

I'm really excited for this trip just to be able to get away from everything and enjoy myself. I'm looking forward to taking a lot of pictures of the boys climbing and seeing my honey in action. I have never seen him rock climb so this will be fun for me! Lots of pictures to come. 

The place they are climbing at is called Sam's Throne. It looks really cool down there with all the nice scenery that I have seen online. Shane and his buddy went down there last year and he showed me some pictures from then. It looks like a good place for me to take some good and fun pictures! I'm looking forward to it. :) 

I won't be posting for a few days since we will be out of town and having a good time.

I have finished making all our photo books from our vacations. Now time to start with the other books I want to get done this year! I'm so excited to get all my pictures finally organized. :)

This was our 2nd trip to Mexico. We decided to go to Mexico for our 1 year wedding anniversary . It was such an awesome trip we didn't want to come back. Next time we plan on staying longer then a week. :)

Daytona Beach, FL - June 13-20, 2009

My dad is a big Nascar fan so we thought taking him to Daytona Beach and going to the Daytona Track would be so much fun for him! We had a lot of fun in Daytona and so did my dad! We did a lot of fun things there beside the track, as you will get to see in this book.

I gave my Dad and Step-Mom one of these books for Christmas too from our trip.

Mexico....Part II

I told you part II of our Mexico trip was coming..... Sorry I have been lazing lately about blogging. I got out of my routine when we left for vacation and it's taking some time to get back into it. But I'm getting there slowing but it's coming. Haha :)

Shane went fishing one day down there with 2 others guys and this is what they caught. It was some yummy fish!

Mexico....Part I

We made it back from Mexico......such a sad day we had to leave and come back to real life. :(
We got in Friday evening the 23rd, our flight landed in KC at 8pm and we got home around 9:30ish.
This vacation was so much fun even though we have been to Mexico before it was still a lot of fun. We made this vacation more about getting to relax and not run around trying to fit everything into a schedule. We just played each day by ear and woke up and said what should we do today. We spent most of our time in the pool by the pool bar! Yes we had plenty of drinks and sun time on our vacation. It was amazing. We were very sad to see this vacation come to an end but we do plan on going back there in the near future. We just love it down there. It's nice just to get away and not have to worry about anything or get up and go to work. Ah the relief!

I took a lot of pictures down there so I won't be posting them all but I will share some good ones....

Our hot tub on our deck! It was very nice...we decided to go with the hot tub instead of an ocean view room...which we had last time in 2008.

Our spare room the didn't get used. Nuts...LOL

Last time we didn't make it to Cabo Wabo but this time we made sure to check it out. We didn't go late so it wasn't too crazy we just wanted to go for some drinks and check the place out. It seems at night it would be crazy there just from seeing the inside and the club area. 

Had to do a Cabo Wabo Tequila shot while we were there. Haha

We guys this is just a few of my pictures but I will be posting more so stayed tuned.....But for now I'm out and off to watch a show with the hubby! Night Night
