Can't Stay Awake....

Have you ever had a problem where at night you just can't stay awake for anything?

Well....that's me these past couple weeks. I have been falling asleep on the couch around 8pm if not sooner, I just don't understand! Shane and I will come home make dinner and sit down to watch a show or movie and shortly after dinner and watching the TV I'm passed out. I haven't ever been this sleepy in a long time or if ever, I mean I like my sleep but I usually go to bed between 9-9:30 or so most nights. I know what some might be thinking but no I'm not pregnant. When I go to bed I will sleep all night so it's not like I will be up and wide awake at 2am, I will sleep all night and still want to sleep when the alarm goes off. I have a sleeping problem these days and I need to figure out how to fix it.

Hopefully with daylight savings and spring just right around the corner, I will be able to stay up later and spend time with my hubby instead of passing out on him and leaving him alone all night. Haha!

If you have suggestions on how to fix this I'm up for trying something. :)

Got an Upgrade!

Let me first start off with saying this wasn't my idea and I love my 1st wedding ring! My hubby has been saying for awhile now he wants to get me a bigger diamond on our 5 yrs anniversary.....well it's not 5 years just yet but he wanted to get me this ring now just in case in a couple years it wasn't there anymore. :)

I found this ring on Pinterest, I didn't really think it was real or anything but when I clicked on the link and I found the jewelry place that sales them, I was like wow! I showed Shane the ring and he really liked it too. That night after showing him the ring and us looking it up and he said well why don't we just upgrade your ring now instead of at 5 years. I was like wow really are you sure?! Within the next few days he ordered my ring and got it. I loved the ring online, but when I saw it in person I was speechless and it was so much more beautiful! I just love this ring and so happy that my hubby was so nice and upgraded for me.

I still have my orginial wedding ring and I plan on getting a bigger chain so I can wear it as a necklace.

2013 In Review....

It's time again to say goody to another year gone. This year seemed to just fly by! 2013 had it's good times and bad times like every year does I'm sure. Let's look back and see some highlights from my year....

I sprained my ankle pretty bad. But it's pretty much back to normal now.

I had a great 29th Birthday Luau.

We broke the World Record for Largest Pub Crawl for CFC.

My Grandpa passed on Sept 4th. :(

We celebrated our 3 year Anniversary.

My mom was diagnosed with COPD.

We went to Cabo, MX again for the 3rd.

I got a new tattoo in memory of my Grandpa.

I upgraded my DLSR camera.

We added a shed to our backyard.

Now it's time to see what 2014 holds for us!!

I haven't set any goals for 2014, not sure if I will or just play to day by day and see what comes of it.....

It's Been Awhile....

It has been awhile since my last post.....I can't say that I haven't had time b/c that's not true, so I guess I just haven't felt like blogging lately or just been lazy about it.

So it's time to get back on track and get back to blogging, so let's see if I can make that happen.

Yeah we have been busy with the holidays and getting stuff done and spending time with our families. Now with the holidays almost coming to an end maybe I can get back into the routine of my normal blogging.

Since I haven't shared for awhile I think I will play catch up and share what you have missed while I was MIA. LOL

I hope everyone has been doing good and had a great Thanksgiving and have a Merry Christmas!!



Getting Back to Real Life....

We arrived back from Mexico late Friday Oct 18th, was no ready to come home and get back to "real life", LOL. We had such an awesome vacation with our friends from Tacoma, WA. It had been 2 years since we meet them and seen them, so we had so much fun spending the week together. I have a ton of pictures that I took, I will be sharing those soon with everyone. Well not all of them but some of them. :)

We are trying to get back into our normal routine of being home and working and all the fun stuff that we do everything, HAHA! I think we are mostly back to normal, but still wish we had more time on vacation with our friends.

It has been a while since I have actually blogged about things we have done, cooked and what not. I had so much going on when my Grandpa passed (cleaning out his house, calling people about his passing bill people and life insurance people etc....) that I didn't have time for hardly anything and I was just wore out and didn't feel like blogging at the time. Now that I'm back from vacation I'm finally getting everything wrapped up and to a close with my Grandpa.

My goal for this week is to hopefully have a couple blog post and get back into my normally blogging routine. So stayed tuned for pictures and details of our MX vacation! :)



Happy 3rd Anniversary!

Today is our 3rd year wedding anniversary!! I couldn't ask for a better person to spend my life with. We have been through so much good and bad, but we are still sticking together. Haha!

We don't have any special planned for our anniversary. Tonight we are going to dinner at our favorite steak house Texas Roadhouse then just relaxing at home.

I'm looking forward to many more years with my hubby!! :)



Long Time No Blogging.....

It has been MONTHS since I have posted anything, WOW! I can't say that I haven't had time to do so, but I can say I just got lazy and stopped blogging. I know it's sad. :(  After I sprained ankle, I didn't do much b/c I couldn't walk very well. Once I finally got to walking some it was just not fun to walk upstairs or really anthing it was a chore and I was miserable. LOL. So, I kinda just let myself be lazy and sit on the couch and get out whack with blogging, cooking, baking and everything else I loved to do. This summer we have been staying busy as well, so I have just let blogging get put to the back burner. I enjoyed blogging and sharing things I have done on here, so it's time to get back to it.

I'm going to go back through the past few months and see what I haven't shared on here that I wanted too. This will kinda be a catch up time for me, so you will see stuff that has happened after I stoppd blogging a few months ago. Once I'm caught up with that I can get back on track with daily stuff that's going on. :)

I'm hoping to get back on track with my blogging! No more excuses, lol.

2012 coming to an end....

2012 is coming to an end. This has been a fast year and a great one well at least for us! I hope 2013 has lots of exciting things in our future. :)

It's been a long time since I have posted about my goals from 2012. Now that the year is ending let's see where my goals stand that I set last year at this time. :)

• Organize the House  - When we lived in the town-home I did lots of reorganizing stuff and it helped out so much and I continued to keep stuff organized since we have moved into our new home. There is some things I would like to get organized but that will continue into 2013 to get those few things done. 

• Eat Better & Work-out  - This started out right and I continued to do my best to keep on this as the year went on. I have been doing the Special K diet with meal bars for breakfast and shakes for lunch. Dinner we have been doing better about planning out better meals. This will continue into 2013.  

• Organize all photos into Photo Books -I did finish all my books and got them ordered. They turned out great! I still have a few photos to add to the 2012 book and then it will be ready to be ordered and I can start on my 2013 book! 

• Build up our savings account  - Our savings account is doing great! We had it built up for months now and haven't had to take any out till just recently. Which was okay because it was for Christmas food that we needed so it was all good. We will work on putting that money back at the beginning of 2013. 

• Buy a House - This was a huge success and we moved into our new home in August. 

• Continue pursuing Photography  - This was slow this year but I did get some shoots in and enjoyed everyone I did. I will continue to work on this more in 2013. :)

• Reading - I read so much this past year it's crazy! I really enjoyed all the books I have read and I look forward to reading more in 2013. 

I haven't set any goals for 2013 yet and I'm not sure if I'm going to or not. Some of my goals from 2012 are going to roll over to 2013, so I guess I have some set. 

If I would set any goals for 2013 it would be to get some stuff done around the house. I have some little things that I would like to get done in at the beginning of the year.  One thing for sure I would like to do is put pictures all over our hallway!

We are Officially Homeowners!!!

I know I have been MIA from blogging lately. We have had so much going on with packing, closing on our house and getting the new house all ready and moved in.

I'm very happy to say we ended up closing on our house 5 days earlier then we thought! We were so excited and couldn't wait to get into our new home. The day of signing was July 26th. It wasn't as bad as people made it out to be, it took us about an hour to sign all the paperwork and call it ours!

After we signed we headed over to the house to celebrate and have some wine. We had a couple of our friends meet us there to share the wonderful moment!

We couldn't wait to get into our home and have it all set up so we started painting right away. That Saturday the 28th we started right in trying to get stuff done. We got 2 rooms done that day/night the living room and half bath. We worked all weekend on our house and it was so fun and I couldn't be more happy to do it!

We ended up taking off work from July 31st through August 13th to paint, move and get settled. We got everything painted and moved in by I would say Thursday the 2nd. We have everything pretty much set up like we want it. There are a couple rooms that aren't done yet, (1) is the spare bedroom and the other is my craft/photography room, so nothing major and we can take our time on those. I will be getting a new desk so once my desk is in and set up I will start getting my room set up!

I have pictures of our house before and after we painted so I will be posting those once my room and pictures are workable. :)

The last part of our time off we went to Arkansas for the weekend with another couple. It was just a little vacation to get away. We rented a cabin on top of the mountains and just hung out all weekend. It was so nice and no one around us! I will post more about our trip later with pictures.

We are now back to work and getting back to our normal routine. :)

2 weeks To Go....

The day is arriving slowly but surely!! Today marks exactly 2 weeks till we get to close on our very first house! We both are so excited about this and can't wait. We are getting so antsy awaiting the day to come!

I have been slowly getting our house packed up and we have boxes everywhere. We are are getting cramped with all the boxes stacked up in our dining room. LOL. Normally I would be freaking out b/c of so much stuff in one room but right now I don't care b/c I know we will be in our house very shortly!

I have been very busy lately with the house move coming up, Wedding pictures to edit and I did a birthday shoot last Saturday so I have those to edit as well. My plan to have all the pictures done by the time we close so I won't have to worry about them while we are trying to move!

So if I become MIA for awhile it's b/c I'm trying to get everything done before July 31st! I'm hoping I can the wedding pictures done by the end of this week. The birthday pictures shouldn't take but a couple of days to go through once I get started on them!

Wish my luck on getting everything ready to go! :)

Exercising

As part of my 2012 goals, I wanted to get back to working out more. I was doing really good about working out weekly at the beginning of the year, but in the past few months I haven't done so good. I feel like with us being so busy with buying our first house I just have been over looking working out. I know that shouldn't be an excuse but I'm using it. LOL.

A while back I was talking to Shane about maybe getting a bicycle and ride that for more exercise, and since he has a bike we could ride together so we both are getting some exercise in a few times a week.

It's been so hot here the past month or so that I can hardly stand to be outside so I haven't been walking or doing much of anything exercise wise. I'm actually not beating myself up as much as I thought I would, and that's only because we have been eating better so that makes me feel good. At least I'm sticking to one part of my goal eating better.

I asked my cousin if I could borrow her bike for a while to see if riding would even be something I like before heading out and buying something that I wouldn't use. First I had to learn out to balance myself again on a bike before I could just take off and go. I haven't rode a bike in prolly 10 yrs or more. It's crazy! But now I got the hang of it again. LOL. So this week since it's been cooler outside I have started riding her bike around our track where we live.

I have actually been enjoying riding around and it's great exercise for my legs. I forgot how much leg work it takes to ride a bike. I will say I do feel good after I go on my ride and come home. This week I have rode 3 times and 2 of those times I have gotten up early before work to get a ride in. That has been awesome riding in the morning, no one is out and the weather is a little cool so it feels great! So far I have been enjoying riding a bike again but I think I will give it another week to make sure I'm not just liking it b/c it's something new. I think I might continue to get up at least 3 times a week before work and getting a ride it. Hopefully I can stick to this and do it. I have been feeling pretty good in the mornings after a nice little ride.

The one thing I'm not to crazy about is the bike seat I forgot how small they are. LOL. I think I just have to get used to it again but my butt was hurting after riding 2 days in a row. Haha. I think if I do decide to get a bike, I think I will buy a new seat for it.

Wish my luck on my quest of bike riding again! LOL ;)

Count Down to Closing Day....

Can you believe it's already July!!! I couldn't have wished this month any faster...why you ask....This month we will be closing on our house!! We both are very excited and can't wait to move it and make it our place together. We will be closing July 31st and that day can't get here fast enough. 

Friday evening we drove by our house and it finally had the SOLD sign on it. We were so happy to see that. Of course I was so exciting and giddy that I forgot to take a picture of it. But don't worry I'm sure we will be buy again and I will take one. 

Shane and I have been so excited that we found our house! We can't wait to move in and get settled. I'm anxious to see how the dog acts in the backyard since she will be able to go out without a leash. Hopefully she will be excited and run out here energy. LOL 

We have been doing some shopping for the house. We both have gotten the shopping bug and have been shopping like every weekend. Weather we buy something or not we still like to go out and see what we want. I have many wish list going of stuff we want for the house. :) We did buy a couple big items that he will need, well I guess 1 was given to us by my grandpa and that was a lawn mower, the other thing he got was a weed eater.  Now he is set and ready to start taking care of our lawn (well of course when it decides to grow again and not be dead) Haha. We also got some other things for the house. I'm going to try and see if I can post everything we got for decorating that house later. I just love all the new stuff we got and can't wait to have it all put up in the house! 

We have been counting down the days on our phone!! Since this day is almost over I'm going to go ahead and put up the days left as of tomorrow!!

Inspection Time...

The next step in our house buying process is getting the inspections done. There are 3 inspections we needed to have done The whole house, chimney and termites.

Monday morning at 9am we had our whole house inspection. I was very nervous about this inspection. Our inspection guy was really nice and deatiled about evertying. The inspection went pretty well. Nothing major is wrong with the house just some little repairs and safety items that need to be done. Nothing that is going to scare us away. LOL. I mean every house is going to have stuff wrong with it weather it be big items or just some little stuff that doesn't take much to fix. There was one major concern during the inspection, which was the AC unit. It wasn't working correctly the air coming out wasn't as cool as it should be. We learned yesterday that AC unit has been repaired and is working now. So that was a plus and one thing off the list we need to ask for. We won't be worry about this for now. We got lucky with only finding little items that needed to be take care of. I felt so much better after this inspection.

We had our last 2 inspections yesterday at 3:00pm. The termite guy was finished by the time we got to the house. He did find termites outside under the chimney area but that's the only place. So we are definitely going to be asking for the seller to treat them.
We also had the chimney done too and there's nothing wrong it. So that is a good thing!

We are meeting with the realtor tonight to go over everything and write up the stuff we want done before mvoing in. So we will see what the seller comes back with.

Wish us luck now more waiting, Fun fun! LOL

I still feel pretty good about our house and buying it! I can't wait to get this last part of waiting from the seller done then we will just be waiting to move in! We are so ready to be in our house. :)

It's Official!!!

Thursday night we went back and looked at house #7 that we both really liked. We still loved the house and we decided to put in an offer that night. Later that night we meet with the Realtor and got our offer wrote up. It was so exciting and I was so nervous. He said we should hear something back within 24-48 hours. Friday at work I was mess thinking about the house and if they were going to except our offer or not. We were heading to dinner Friday night and we got the call saying the seller came back with a counter offer, so we countered them back and now we were just waiting to hear back. It was about an hour or so later and Shane had left to go pick up something. I was sitting at home going crazy waiting for an answer. Shane came home and he says are you still going crazy, I was like are you kidding me yes, he says well you shouldn't be anymore we just bought a house they accepted our offer. I was so excited I jumped off the couch and into his arms and started crying. This was so exciting and I couldn't believe it was actually happening. :) Now we just have to get through inspection and we will be in the clear! 

SO IT'S OFFICIAL WE ARE UNDER CONTRACT ON OUR FIRST HOUSE!!!!

House Searching Round 2 & 3....

The house search continues this week with round 2 then round 3....I posted last week about our search beginning and getting to go out in person for the time! We didn't have much luck that round out we said no to all 4 houses. We were ok with that because they weren't meant for us. :)
This week we headed out Tuesday evening to look at 4 more. That night all the houses were nice but we said no to all but 1 of them but of course they all had good reasons of to why we didn't want them.
The 1 that we both really really liked has been on our mind since we left it! So our realtor said that we needed to go out and look at a couple more to make sure we didn't miss anything. Last night we went and look at 2 more houses and said no to both of them. Tonight we are going back to our favorite house to have a 2nd look and we are taking Shane's dad with us to have another set of eyes! I'm really excited to see this house! Maybe this is the one!!! We will find out tonight. :) So stay toned on news to come....

The reason we said no to this one was...The street that it set on was a through street and at the stop light was 2 schools then a softball complex, so we didn't want to have to deal with traffic all the time. Another reason was because the back yard and big slop to it and we didn't like that.

This house was very nice and the location was good. Neighbor was nice. The one big reason for saying No to this one was the backyard. Even though it seems silly it's not. We want to be able to hand out back when we have people over and let the dog out. This yard had a big slop in and that really turned us off.

House #7

THIS IS THE ONE WE LOVE!!! There are a few down falls to the house we don't care for but we can't get everything right. LOL. The driveway had a little hill to it but nothing to bad to scare us off. Shane said it isn't bad and we can maintain when it snows to be able to get in and out. The basement isn't finished but we are ok with that. It's something we can do down the road if we want too. We are going tonight for round 2 of looking so hopefully we still like it!

 Dining area was a good size. We would just need a table to put there. LOL

House #8
We said no to this house as well for a couple different reasons. One the upstairs only had 1 bathroom that was shared by the master bedroom and guest when you had them over. The 2nd bath was located in the basement. We didn't like that. In the kitchen/dining room there was a little step up to go from the dining area to the kitchen that was weird. The flooring in the dining area was coming up as well so you had soft stops when you were walking around.

Last night we went and looked at 2 more house to make sure these weren't something we would like instead of house #7.

So this is House #9 that we looked at. It was a nice big house but as we got down to the basement there was a lot of cracking in the floor and we didn't like that at all. Not something I would want to deal with in our first home. No fun. LOL

House #10 was ranch style house. It was update very nice and we loved the hard woods in there. But the bedrooms were tiny and the kitchen didn't have a lot of counter or cabinet space. The deck and backyard was awesome! The deal breaker on this house was that it didn't have a basement.

That ends the house hunting round 2 & 3. Now tonight we will go back and look at house #7 and see what it holds for us....:)
