R.I.P Grandpa

I'm very sadden that I have to write this blog.....

The evening of Wednesday Sept 4th my grandpa passed away.

We went over after work that evening to visit him. He slept the whole time so I just sit with him on his bed for a little while and held his hand. It broke my heart to see him like that everyday. About an hour after we left my mom called me and told me he had passed. I was so upset and heart broken. But I am glad he is no longer in pain and is at peace, that is gives me relief. No one should have to go through that and he didn't want to live like that for sure. So, he is now in a better place and watching over all of us. I think of him everyday and still think this is a dream and I will wake up anytime.

I love you Grandpa and will miss you so much!!

The memorial has been set for Grandpa (Jack Shields)
This is just a time for family and friends to come out and talk about the wonderful life and times they have shared with him.

  1. Courtney, I am so very sorry for your loss. I loved Uncle Jack and his fun games when I was a kid. Him and my dad (Bill Blancett) where very close and I'm down in Pittsburg right now as I just buried my daddy yesterday. I know exactly how you feel. I wish I could stay the extra days to pay my tributes to Uncle Jack, but I can't. Just know that I'm there with all of you in spirit. Give your mom a hug for me, Dwayne, Kasey and Brandon (Shane too!). Consider this an open invitation for a vacation in San Francisco, where I live. I remember you when you were just a little girl in gymnastics. I've spent the past few hours reading your blog and it's very fun. Come and visit me at cindyblancett.com. Your pictures and work are just wonderful. Hugs and blessings to you and your family during this very traumatic time.
