Photo Shoot: Carson, Dawson & Madison

Last weekend I had a photo shoot to do an old friend from High School her 3 kids pictures. I found this park up North that I have never been there it's called Hodge Park and this was a really cool place to have pictures done. The kids had fun and we got lots fun pictures! It was a great day for pictures as well and there were lots other people getting pictures done out there as well. It must be a popular spot but i have never been there.

Here are a few pictures from my shoot on Sunday.

Photography Challenge: Nature

I'm still working on my assignments and challenges from my online photography school. I have been so busy with other photo shoots I haven't had a lot of time to put towards getting them done.

This challenge was from last weekend and it was on "Nature". I was out Saturday doing more Senior pictures for my sister and some pictures of her and her boyfriend. We went to a park over by my house to do some pictures and I almost stepped on this little guy (well I guess not so little he was big frog!). It scared the life out of me when I looked down and seen my foot inches away from stepping on him. I jumped and ran over by Kasey and my heart was just going crazy. LOL. I'm not sure why a frog scared me so bad but it did, prolly b/c I'm not used to just seeing frogs around. Haha!

I thought this frog would be a great one to post for this weeks Nature Challenge.

Photo Shoot: Price, Chase & Derek

A few weekends ago I got the opportunity to shoot my friend's 3 nephews. These boys were a lot of fun and cracked me up! We did the shoot at Antioch Park Park in Shawnee Mission, KS. This park was nice. I have never actually walked through and checked it out but I'm glad I had the chance to do the photo shoot there. It was a good place and the kids had fun.

Books: Tempted

It's been awhile since I posted about what book I am reading. The last time I posted was when I was reading The Digital Wedding Photography Book for the upcoming wedding I was going to shoot. I'm sad to say that I will no longer be shooting the wedding. I was almost done with this book when they decided they no longer needed me for the wedding. So, I decided to stop reading this book for now until maybe another day I can shoot a wedding. I want to read this book before shooting a wedding so everything is fresh in my mind.

So, I decided to start back reading on the House of Night Series I started a few months back. I like this book but I will say it's not my favorite out of the first 5 I have read. I'm reading this one a little slower but I'm hoping they will pick back up.

Tempted Summary: So…you’d think after banishing an immortal being and a fallen High Priestess, saving Stark’s life, biting Heath, getting a headache from Erik, and almost dying, Zoey Redbird would catch a break. Sadly, a break is not in the House of Night school forecast for the High Priestess in training and her gang.
Juggling three guys is anything but a stress reliever, especially when one of them is a sexy Warrior who is so into protecting Zoey that he can sense her emotions. Speaking of stress, the dark force lurking in the tunnels under the Tulsa Depot is spreading, and Zoey is beginning to believe Stevie Rae could be responsible for a lot more than a group of misfit red fledglings. Aphrodite’s visions warn Zoey to stay away from Kalona and his dark allure, but they also show that it is Zoey who has the power to stop the evil immortal.
Soon it becomes obvious that Zoey has no choice: if she doesn’t go to Kalona he will exact a fiery vengeance on those closest to her. Will Zoey have the courage to chance losing her life, her heart, and her soul?

Brianna's Senior Shoot

A few weekends ago I got to shoot one of my sister's friend Brianna's Senior pictures. We headed out to the West Bottoms and Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park. We took lots of pictures! She was happy with the way the turned out and so was I. It's crazy that my sister and her friend are Seniors in High School already, I remember when they were little kids running around the backyard. Oh how fast they grow up. I have knew Brianna since she was little and now she is all grown up with a daughter of her own, it's crazy! She had her 18 month daughter in some of her pictures as well. That little girl was too cute and she had fun running around playing and taking pictures. Little kids just love the camera and it makes it so fun to shoot them!

Here are a few of my favorite from her shoot.

Renaissance Festival

Last weekend Shane and I went to the Ren Fest with my sister and her boyfriend. I haven't been there in years so we thought it would be fun to go check it out. It was something to do on a Saturday evening that we haven't done in a long time. We had a good time walking around and checking out all the different shops and fun stuff they had. I forget how expensive things are there food, drinks....but we had a good time so that's what counts! We got some candles, incense and a very cool dragon incense holder. We did a lot of walking around that day, I think we were there for about 3hrs. We stayed till they closed at 7, but we didn't get there till around 4ish so that was plenty of time for us to see everything. We didn't watch any shows we just enjoyed walking around looking at everything.
They wanted more food and she was out. LOL They were trying to get her. It was pretty funny!
I had to take a picture of her....I loved her eyes!

Kasey's boyfriend bought here a waxed rose....It was really pretty and smelled good!

Halloween Time

I can't believe that October is here and it's almost half way through the month. It's crazy how fast this year has gone. With October here that means it's Halloween time! I have been really wanting to decorate each holiday around the house, I have seen lots of fun stuff around in the stores! So this year for Halloween we decorated a little outside and inside the house. We didn't get to carried away....but that will come when we have a house and will have room for much more decorations! This weekend we will be getting pumpkins for our porch, it's been forever since I had pumpkins outside for Halloween.

Once the pumpkins are out there then we will be set for Halloween!

Photography Assignment: Horizons

The photography assignment I got before we left for Mexico was Horizons. I actually thought about this one while in Mexico. So I finally went through my pictures and picked out a couple that I thought would be great for this one.

A brief explanation on what this assignment is about: Horizons take a landscape shot with particular emphasis on the horizon. I want to you to make the horizon line the focus of your image. City scape's, mountains, lakes, oceans, tree lines, all can make interesting horizons lines. Try using lighting - sunrise, sunset, or man-made - , contrast, reflections, and/or color to bring attention to your skyline. And don't forget to keep you horizons horizontal!

Horizon Pictures

Another assignment done and just a few more to get caught up on. I'm slowly getting there!
