Halloween Costume Party

Halloween has become one of Shane and I favorite holiday. We bought some new decorations once we got moved into our house and we plan on adding more as the years come!
We decided this year to have a Halloween Costume Party. We both were very excited for this and got our costume like a month or so early. We kinda went all out but it was so worth it, I loved my costume.

We got a scene setter for our formal living area. It was pretty cool. :)

This was kinda my photo area of where I took pictures of everyone.
I was a vampire. I loved how my costume came together. My nails I got from Wal-Mart didn't last very long. HaHa but that's what I get for buying $3 fake nails. They were cool why they lasted.
Up close of my eyes and fangs!

Shane was a werewolf. I loved his costume as well. It was awesome!
Up close of eyes and fangs. His eyes were freaky!!
Dang werewolf trying to kill me! LOL ;)
Isn't she the cutest Cabbage Patch Kid ever! Well I think she is. :)

We had a great time at our party and we are hoping to make it a yearly thing at The Wickliffe house!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone!!
I hope all the kids have fun Trick-or-Treating tonight!!

I'm looking forward to see how many kids we get at our new home!! We made candy goodies bags this year.

Be safe and have fun tonight!!

Photography Assignment: Scary Portrait

This week the assignment was Scary Portrait. What a great assignment with Halloween right around the corner! Shane and I had a Halloween costume party so I went though the pictures taken and picked on out that could be used.

Shane was a werewolf for Halloween. I did some editing to this picture to make it a little more Halloween themed. :)

Pizza/Movie Night

I should have posted this last Friday morning, but I totally forgot about it! Oops!!

Last Thursday we made homemade pizza again and it was yummy as usually!! We also rented The Vampire Hunter. I didn't make it very far in this movie before I fell asleep. If a movie doesn't really interest me at the beginning or somewhat beginning then you can forget it I'm going to sleep. LOL Shane said he enjoyed it.

Crock Pot Beer Chicken

This is yet another recipe I got off Pinterest...I told you I loved this site and it's so handy being on my phone now. ;)
Shane and I are always looking for new dinner's to make an sometimes it's just hard to come up with stuff. So, pinterest has really been helping a lot, not just with meals but with baking stuff as well. We both are getting more into baking and loving all the new stuff we are trying.

This new meal is called Crock Pot Beer Chicken. It turned out to be really good. I'm loving using the crock pot more these days!

Ingredients:

  • 2 Ibs chicken breast (I just used 2 from the store)
  • 1 bottle of beer (I used Corona)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper (I added this myself the recipe didn't call for it)
 Directions:

  1. Mix beer and spices together in crock pot
  2. Place chicken in (I flipped the chicken a little to get all the ingredients on it)
  3. Cook on high for 4-5 hours or low for 6-8 hours (I cooked on low while we were at work and it turned out very good)

Photography Challenge: Textures

So, it has been a LONG time since I have posted about my photography challenges. I still receive these each week but I have been busy or just putting them off lately (Laziness!!)....But I'm trying to get myself back in the routine in doing the Photography Assignments and Photography Challenges every weekend.

Last week the challenge was Textures. I was out taking pictures of our tree in the backyard and found a couple good ones for this challenge to use!

This is the texture from the tree.
This leaf was just hanging out on the tree so I got a close up so you could see the texture from it as well.

This is another recipe I found on pinterest! Last weekend Shane and I decided to give them a try for breakfast Sunday morning. They were pretty easy to make and they we pretty yummy! We decided that next time we make these we will make gravy to put on top of them.

Instead of buying canned biscuits...Shane made homemade ones. They turned out really good!
Everything you will need.

  • 6 eggs
  • Bacon

Photo Edits

This week I'm editing pictures from a Senior shoot I did back at the beginning of October. I'm hoping to have them done by Friday so I can give them back to the family!

Here are a few edits from this shoot:

To edit this photo I boosted the color and then made it black & white. I love B&W pictures!

Photo Shoot: Joy & Aidan

At the beginning of October, I had the chance to shoot some family members pictures of mother and son together. The day we had scheduled turned out to be one of the days it decided to be in the low 40's, but we decided to bare the weather and go out anyways. We were all a little chilly but we still had fun taking pictures. :)

Christmas Wine Bottles

I know I know it's kinda early to be thinking about Christmas....but, not for me! I'm so excited for Christmas this year it's insane. I can't wait to decorate our home for the first time!!!

This idea again came from my favorite site of all times....Pinterest!! This was another idea that was a MUST do for Christmas time. I had to shop around some to find the prefect decorations to put in these bottles before I made them. Once I found them it was time to get to work! Saturday afternoon while Shane was working I headed outside to start this little wine bottle project. They were very easy to do and didn't take much time at all.

Items Needed:
3 wine bottles
Spray White Premier
Spray Adhesive
Epsom Salt
Christmas Decorations

Step 1
Spray the bottles with the white premier and let dry completely.

Step 2:
Spray bottles with adhesive and roll in Epsom salt. Let dry.
Here is what they look like when finished

Step 3:
Add the decorations and display for everyone too see!

I'm so happy with how these turned out. I just love them!!

Wine Bottles w/ Christmas Lights

As I have mentioned before...I LOVE Pinterest. There are so many fun ideas for the Holiday and just daily around the house projects to do. I have done a few baking things off there and they were really yummy.

A couple weeks ago I decided to make these wine bottles with Christmas lights in them. My cousin actually found this idea and sent it to me! I fell in love with the idea and had to do it! We have a ton of wine bottles we have collected so this project was pretty cheap to put together.

Items Needed:
- 3 wine bottles
- Clear Christmas lights (I got mine at hobby lobby for $1.99 each and they run on batteries

I took the back label off and left the front on.
Sorry this pictures is a little blurry but you get the idea. I'm going to try and dress them up for Thanksgiving and of course Christmas time! I will prolly buy just little things you can hang around the neck of the bottle.

Leaves Leaves Leaves....

I have really been enjoying watching our big tree in the backyard change daily. It's so pretty! We are going to have a ton of leaves once they all decide to fall off, but I can't wait to see them all over our yard. :)

Thursday night I decided to take some pictures of the leaves that have already fell off. I just love all the fall colors!

These are the leaves that have fell on the ground already. Aren't they pretty so far?!
This is one of my fav's I took Thursday night.
This is the top of the tree, the leaves are starting to fall from the top. So I thinking if it keeps that up the top will be bare and the rest will have leaves. LOL.
I can't wait for this whole tree to turn red! It's going to be so pretty!

Here is our tree in the front yard. It hasn't started changing a whole lot but it's working on it. I need to take some more pictures of the full tree. These pictures are just of the top of it.

I thought the sunset was pretty and this was just a cool picture that I captured.
Here is the top of the tree out front. You can see where just the top is starting to change. I will try and get more pictures of the full tree so you can see how big this one is as well. We are going to have a ton of leaves between the backyard tree and the front yard one!

Pizza & Movie Night

About a month or so ago Shane and I decided to make every Thursday Pizza and Movie night. We sometimes order pizza out or make it at home. The past couple weeks Shane has been making his own pizza dough and making us homemade pizza. It has been really good and every week it gets better! This week so far was by far the best pizza yet!
We didn't get to watch a movie tonight because Netflix was acting up, so we decided to watch some of our recorded shows, CSI and Vampire Dairies. Next week we will try for the movie again!

Here are some pictures of our yummy pizza!! We ate the whole thing! It was pepperoni and bacon.

I think I'm going to try and start posting about pizza/movie each week so everyone can see our yummy pizza we get or make and what movie we decide to watch! Stay tuned for next week.
