Photography Assignment: Scary Portrait

This week the assignment was Scary Portrait. What a great assignment with Halloween right around the corner! Shane and I had a Halloween costume party so I went though the pictures taken and picked on out that could be used. 

Shane was a werewolf for Halloween. I did some editing to this picture to make it a little more Halloween themed. :)

Photography Assignment: Horizons

The photography assignment I got before we left for Mexico was Horizons. I actually thought about this one while in Mexico. So I finally went through my pictures and picked out a couple that I thought would be great for this one.

A brief explanation on what this assignment is about: Horizons take a landscape shot with particular emphasis on the horizon. I want to you to make the horizon line the focus of your image. City scape's, mountains, lakes, oceans, tree lines, all can make interesting horizons lines. Try using lighting - sunrise, sunset, or man-made - , contrast, reflections, and/or color to bring attention to your skyline. And don't forget to keep you horizons horizontal!

Photography Assignment: Found Objects

I'm trying to get caught on all the photography assignments I haven't done yet. This assignment is from the first week in September, it's "Founding Objects". I haven't done this one yet because I just wasn't finding anything that seemed to pop out at me that I wanted to use.
So, today while Kira and I were out on our walk I was looking at all the pretty trees changing colors and I looked up and saw a big birds nest! I thought this would be prefect for this assignment. I thought this nest was really cool and it looks pretty with the big yellow tree.

Well 1 assignment done and just 4 more to go....Hopefully I can be all caught up within the next week. Fingers crossed! :)

Photography Assignment: Camera Phone Shots

Our assignment for the weekend over at Digital Photography School was "Camera Phone Shots". Instead of using our normal camera to take pictures we are to use our cell phone camera. This assignment was actually pretty easy for me since I always have my cell phone with me and over the weekend we had plenty of activities going on I could take pictures of.

The picture I decided to use for this weekends assignment was from Shane out playing Disc Golf. 

This was taken Saturday 9/10/2011 by my Samsung Infuse cell phone

Here are some other pictures that I took while they played Disc Gold today. All these pictures were taken with my cell phone.

Kira dog was tired from all the walking she wouldn't even get up to drink her water so she layed down. 

Photography Assignment: Trees

Over the weekend our Photography Assignment was to shoot "Trees". When I was out this weekend I was looking for the prefect picture of trees for this assignment.

This was taken at Loose Park.

I did a photo shoot this weekend at Loose Park. This was my first time at this park and I was amazed how big it was and  very pretty. I got some greats shots here. I will be posting later once the editing is all finished!

Photography Assignment: Joys of Childhood

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope every ones week started out great. My week started out slow...I was so wore out from the weekend and had no energy to focus on anything. Today is a little better so hopefully the rest of the week will be good.
Over the weekend our Photography assignment was shooting "The Joys of Childhood". This assignment was perfect for my weekend b/c I was spent Saturday around kids all day long. We went to Chuck-E-Cheese for my nephews 5th birthday party....I took lots of pictures (will post later this week). Then after that we had another friends birthday party and there were 3 babies there! I love taking pictures of babies they are so fun!
So with all the pictures I had taken over the weekend of children the one that I had to submit for this assignment was just so adorable!

                                         This is Harper and her smile in this picture was just amazing!

This is a great picture for this assignment. Capturing baby smiles are priceless and will always be a joy to look back on!

Our Challenge for the weekend was shooting "Shoes" stay tuned for that post.

Also I will be posting pictures from our funfilled weekend so be on the look out for those.

Photography Assignment #1: Silhouettes

I hope everyone had a great weekend. We had a great weekend and I played around with my first assignment for Photography. I mentioned last week I wanted to start being more involved in Assignments from the Photography School I signed up for.

So here's the first one.....

This weekend the assignment was Silhouettes. This was challenging for me but I got one down I could share that I was happy with. I do plan on practicing more with this technique as it could be very fun once I get the hang of it!

As I was playing around with this technique I took some other pictures that I thought came out very nice. So I thought I would share those as well with everyone.

I still have a challenge to do from the weekend assignment of photographing "Toys". I'm planning on doing some pictures tonight of that. So stay tuned for a post of those!
