Happy Birthday Mom

My mom's birthday was February 14th, yes she is a Valentine's Day baby. This is the first year in LONG time since all the kids and her were able to celebrate with her. She came down on Saturday and we went out for dinner to Fronteras then came back to our place and did dessert and gifts. It was good time and she seemed to enjoy herself.

Yes they came and sang to her and she got some free fried ice cream.
She thought they were trying to feed her a bit but really they wanted to put the whipped cream on her nose.

My brother, sister and I all went in and got her a pink camo purse. She loved it!
For dessert I made her Hot Fudge Oreo Cupcakes. These were the most yummy things ever! I will be posting the recipe soon!

Happy Birthday Mom! Hope you had a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday, Jordann!

I'm a little late on this post...OOPS! Back on the 7th we celebrated Jordann's 25th birthday! Her birthday was February 6th. We always get together for dinner and dessert for birthdays.

This birthday Jordann wanted Taco Salad. Her mom used to make taco salad she loved and she has tried but couldn't figure out how she made it so good. When she said she wanted it I stepped up and decided I would give it a go and see what I could make. I was super nervous to make this because trying to make something as good as her mom, well that's hard for anyone if you ask me.

I'm pleased to say my taco salad turned out great and it is something everyone enjoyed and would love to have again. I was so happy to hear this and I do look forward to making it again for them soon!

The taco salad I made. I will post the recipe soon.

Stefanie made her a Snickers Cheesecake.
Happy Birthday pretty lady!!

Thanksgiving

I know Thanksgiving was a little while ago, but I never got around to sharing pictures from it. So, here we are January 6th and I'm going to share them. Haha!

We hosted Thanksgiving for the 2nd year at our house for Shane's side of the family. It turned out wonderful again and I look forward to doing again next  this year. :) This year we had 3 new family members join us and we couldn't have been happier to welcome them to KS and share a wonderful day together.

Isn't the veggie tray cute they made it look like a Turkey, so festive I love it!
All the yummy food! I just love Thanksgiving and the delicious food!
We had to have 2 tables for all the food. Haha!
This year we moved the dining room table into our Pub area so we could all sit together. We also had to have a kid table with adding 3 more people this year, but it all turned out great!
It was actually pretty nice weather outside this year again. I decided I wanted to take some family pictures this year so I could hang more pictures in our gallery hallway I have been working.
This is Shannon (Shane's Brother), Stefanie (Sister-In-Law), Sydney and Paige! I love this picture of them.
All us pretty ladies. :)
All the handsome guys. They are a little out numbered by all us girls. Haha!
Nieces & Nephew, aren't they so cute!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and had lots of yummy food.

After we finished with Shane's family we had to head out to my Grandma's house for Thanksgiving with my family.

Merry Christmas!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!!!

Shane and I have a busy day today. We will head over to Shane's dad around 10:30-11am and open gifts and have Christmas dinner there. We are having Steak this year, yummy!!
After we are done there around 6:30pm we will head out to my Grandma's for more family fun. This year at my G-ma's we decided not to do a big dinner but just have desserts since everyone goes places during the day and is eating all day. I did make a festive dessert to take which I will post later.

Enjoy the day with your families and be safe if you are traveling!!!

Playing around w/ my new Camera!

I posted last week about my new camera that I got! I have been playing around and taking pictures with it to get a feel for it and seeing what this bad boy can do. So far I'm just loving it and the pictures are turning out great.

Here is a picture I took the other night of the moon. I just love this pictures, it's amazing!

This one was taken of my niece Sunday afternoon in our backyard. I just love this picture of her with the leaves behind for Fall. I do believe this one will be doing in our hallway at home!

Saturday morning we went to watch Paige play Volleyball, and I wanted to see what my camera did with action pictures....Here are a few from her volleyball game.

I'm looking forward to playing with my camera much more and see what cool things I can shoot with it!

My Mom

These past few months have been really crazy. First with my Grandpa and his surgery then losing him.

Let's go back to last Friday Sept 27th....We got a call at 6:00am from my mom's husband letting us know they took my mom to KU because she couldn't breathe. They got her stable and on oxygen so she was doing a little better. Friday afternoon they did a lung test to see what was going on, so we had to wait till Saturday to find those results. Come Saturday my mom called me to let me know they got the results back and she has COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). They ended up keeping her till Monday just to make sure she was doing okay without oxygen and her heart rate was going back to normal. The steroid they were giving her was making her heart rate jump high, so they needed to get that under control and monitor her. She got out Monday afternoon and is doing much better now. She has some inhalers that she needs to use from now on in case her breathing gets out of control again. My mom was a smoker so that is how she got COPD. She has said she plans on stopping and since everything has happened she hasn't felt the need to have one, let's pray that continues.
Once scary thing from this is that when she arrived at the hospital Friday they nurse told her if she would have called any later she would have died. WHAT?!? That is too much of a close call talking about losing my mom. I'm thankful she is still here and is doing much better. I hope that she continues to better her health knowing that she has this disease. I will support her however she needs to keep herself healthy for sure.

I'm telling you in the past few months I have seen enough hospitals and don't want to see them for a long long time again. LOL.

I'm very thankful we are leaving for Mexico on October 11th. I'm so in need of a vacation after this busy time in my life!

Please continue to pray for my mom and that everything goes well for her in the future dealing with COPD.

I love you Mom!!

Happy Birthday, Grandpa

Today would have been my Grandpa's 82nd Birthday. There isn't a day that goes by where I don't think him. I miss him so much I can't even explain. I wish I could pick up the phone or go see and tell him Happy Birthday and that I love him.

I love you Grandpa and Happy Birthday!!
