It's Friday, TGIF!!

Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a good week well beside this crazy weather we have been having.Wednesday we actually spent about 30mins or so down in our basement at work b/c of the Tornado sirens. So yeah that was just a fun time. I'm glad we are ok and nothing happened around us. I hope everyone else was safe as well.

I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend. I know I'm looking forward to the long weekend, I have 4 days off and I can't wait!! We actually have a fun filled weekend planned. We decided instead of taking a vacation to St. Louis we would do a Staycation and do stuff around home we normally don't do. I'm pretty excited for all our fun days.
This week has been kind of fast so that helps when we have a fun weekend ahead. But this weather has been crazy. I'm so over all the raining days and bad weather. I'm ready for the summer to begin and the sun is out all the time. Hopefully this weekend the weather will act right and give us some nice weather for us to enjoy.

I won't be posting anymore till after the weekend so everyone enjoy your weekend and be safe.
I will post about our fun weekend next week....So until then....

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!!

Honeymoon

For our honeymoon we decided to take a Cruise. This was our first cruise and we loved it. We left the weekend after Thanksgiving and was gone for a week. We left from Miami, Fl and went to Key West, FL and Cozumel, MX. We did invite another couple to join us on the cruise b/c we thought it would be more fun to have people we know with us. And it was a blast!!

Shane and I left and went down to Miami the day before our cruise left. So we got to spend the night hanging out in Miami. We walked around and checked out the Bayside with all the shops, restaurants and bars Bayside. We had a great time down there. We woke up the day our cruise left and headed down to the pier where our ship was docked.

We got all checked in and boarded the ship and waited for our friends to join us on there. I was so surprised at how big the ship was! It was huge!! We did see ships that were bigger then ours and I just couldn't believe how big there were. Amazing! I was so filled with excitement boarding the ship since it was our first cruise I was couldn't wait to see how it went. We decided to go with Carnival Cruise Line. It was a great experience and we plan on doing again.

The name our ship was Carnival Imagination
Our first stop on the cruise was Key West, Florida. None of us had been there before so we were super excited to check it out. We have some friends that vacation there a lot so they gave us some good tips on where to go. We got there early in the morning so not a lot of places were opened yet. So we walked around and checked out stuff and went the the Southern Most Point. We did do a lot of drinking in Key West once the bars opened up. We tried to hit every bar we could that was opened. We did hit a lot of them so it was nice seeing all the different one there. I would love to go back visit again but be able to spend more time there and see everything we didn't get too.
The second stop on our cruise was Cozumel, Mexico. When we arrived there it was raining so that was a bummer but we didn't let that get us down. We did have a excurison planned for here but it ended up getting cancelled because of the rain. We are going to Zip Line and Snorkel. So since this got cancelled we decided it was time for more drinking. LOL Our first stop was Senor Frogs. This bar was a ton of fun! We didn't get to go to the beach there due to the rain so that was a bummer too. I could have used a tan before coming home. :) But we enjoyed ourselves anyways the rain didn't stop out fun! We did some bar hopping here as well and drank most of the day till it was time to head back to ship. We got to spend all day in Cozumel. It did stop raining so that was nice we didn't have to walk around and get wet. We got to enjoy some good Mexican food as well. Mexican is my favorite food so I loved it!!
Our last day on the cruise we were at sea all day heading back to Miami. When we left Cozumel the storm that was there it followed us all through the night. Our ship was rocking back and fourth like crazy. Shane and I both woke up that Thursday on the ship and were sea sick. That was horrible being sick and not being able to be in your own home was no fun at all! He got over his sickness early afternoon but I was sick ALL day long. I was so miserable that day. But this didn't stop us for saying we will for sure be taking another cruise. We believe the only reason for the seasick is the storm we got stuck in.

We had a great honeymoon it was a blast and having friends with us made it great!!

The Most Perfect Day EVER!!!!

Shane proposed to me on Sept 19, 2009 after a good lunch at Fudruckers this is his favorite burger place! We had lunch and came home I was doing laundry and he called me upstairs and that's when he got down on one knee and asked if I would marry him....YES of course! :) I was shocked that he finally asked after so many years. But I wanted it to be the right time when he was ready and that was the day he was ready.

We got married on Sept 25, 2010 it was a perfect day the weather wasn't too hot or cold. It did give us a few rain drops but nothing major so it was great. Everything was perfect that day.
So details of our big day! Our wedding colors were Navy, White and Silver. These colors were so pretty together. The invitations I made turned out super cute with these colors. A lot of our wedding stuff was hand made, it was a lot cheaper that way and I'm crafty so it worked out. Let's see what all was made...Invitations, Guest Favors, Guest Book, Brides & Bridal Party bouquets, Cake table flowers, Gifts to the bridesmaids and the Thank you cards. I believe that was everything I made. My step mom actually made all my center pieces for me as well. Everything was beautiful. We did both the ceremony and the reception at the same location we both felt this would be much easier then driving to different places it was held at VFW Hall. The hall wasn't too far from our house either about 3 mins if that so that made things easier as well. Our cake was so good it was a 3 tier cake with each tier being a different flavor. Our favorite flavor that we had was the vanilla cake with cookies-n-cream filling. It was delicious! Our cake was made by Sweets by Shelley. She did a wonderful job on it! Our wedding photography was done by Sonya Karel. I had a wonderful time with her doing our pictures and she did such a wonderful job!! She also did our engagements pictures and those were great as well!

Of course everyone runs into problems on their big day....We have a few little problems but nothing major that stopped the wedding day. The place we got the guys boutonnieres shorted us one for the ring bearer but not worries a guest made him one from a rose off our center pieces. One problems fixed and not worries. The 2nd thing we can across was the liquor store gave us the wrong kind of beer in one of the kegs. Ah no biggie I will drink whatever it's my day and nothing can ruin it and nothing did!
I had the best day ever I was so happy to be marring my best friend and a wonderful man.

Our marriage has been wonderful and I couldn't ask for a better husband. I look forward to many loving years with him!

Enjoy some of our pictures below of the best day of my life...There were so many pictures it was hard to decide what to share. I love them all!!

First Big Purchase being Married!

Shane and I have made our first big purchase as a married couple. :) Last weekend we went and bought a new bedroom set. I just love it!! I can't wait to get all our clothes put up so they aren't just laying around in the closet. We couldn't pass this set up it was such a good deal and on sale so we went for it!
We purchased our set from Nebraska  Furniture Mart Nebraska Furniture Mart.
Yes we have been together for 7 years and have purchased many big things together but this is our first big purchase since we have been married. I'm so happy to finally have a bedroom set. It actually looks like a bedroom for once well expect some stuff that shouldn't be in there. But what can you do when you don't have a ton of room. We will make due till it's our time to buy a house.

Here are some pictures of our bedroom set. These are pictures from NFM website.

I just love the black it's looks so pretty. Well expect for the dog hair on it but what can you do about the animal hair. LOL Now we are looking around for some lamps for the night stands and a new comforter set. I just love getting new stuff it's so much fun! :)

Courtney's Cards & More....

Hello all! I mentioned in my last post about opening my own website for all my craft stuff that I like to make. I wanted to Share this website with everyone.
My website has all kinds of fun stuff on it. Birthday Cards, Wedding invites, Birthday invites, Name Frames, Collage Frames and much much more.
I got into this hobby a few years back my cousin actually introduced me to Stampin' up and I just enjoyed making all the cute stuff. I have been adding to my collection ever since and let me tell you it has gotten pretty big. My craft area is currently in our dining area. When we get a house I will have my own room for my crafts. I can't wait for this! I'm currently finishing up 200 wedding invites for a girl I went to school with.
This hobby does take a lot of time ex-specially working a full time job. But I do enjoy it and I love seeing people's reactions when I bring them there project they wanted made. It makes me feel good to see how much they like it.
Check out my website at Courtney's Cards & More.... and let me know if there is anything I can make up for you.
I think I will take a short break from making stuff maybe about a month. The 200 invites I'm finishing up have wore me down so I think a little break will be just what I need.

That's all for now....

About Me....

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! This is all new to me but I thought what the heck lets give blogging a try. Something new to try out, Right?

I wanted to start off first by telling you a little about my self.....My name is Courtney Wickliffe I will be 27 on this month on May 31st. I currently live in Lenexa, KS with my husband and our little dog Kira. I have 2 sisters and 1 brother and a handsome little nephew who's growing so fast.
My husband and I have been together for 7 years and we finally got married on Sept 25, 2010. Everyone said "It's about time"!! I was ready to get married but I wanted it to be the right time for Shane and when he was ready so it was no pressure and when it happened it happened. :) It was the best day of my life. I will post more later on our wedding.
I graduated from North Kansas City High School in 2002. I didn't go to college I went straight to working full time and moved out on my own. Thankfully moving out when I was 18 wasn't too hard for me. I made it just fine which sometimes you aren't that lucky.
My hobbies are scrap booking, making cards invites and whatever else fun stuff I can come up with. I currently just opened my open website for all my crafty stuff (More post to come on this for everyone to check out). I love this hobby but I have been doing it for some long I think I need a break from it for awhile....I feel a little burnt out on it. But I won't give it up I do love making stuff and to see how cute everything comes out. Just a short break then I will get back to it. :)
My other hobby that I love is Photography. I think I'm ready to start focusing more on this hobby to get better at it. I have always had a love for photos and I always have a camera in hand. My goal this summer to focus on photography more and learn as much as I can. I haven't taken any classes but maybe one day if I feel I'm ready and have the money I may do some classes. But for now I will get some books to read up on it. I just recently took my brother out and did his Senior pictures. I do say they came out really good. I will also post more of these later. I am looking for any feed back if anyone has good tips on photography! I'm ready to learn as much as I can!

Well that's all for now. More post to come.....
