Pretty Little Liars: Wicked (Book 5)

This week I have started reading book #5 from my series. I'm just flying threw this series! I have really enjoyed it and look forward to the rest of the books. I believe there are like 14 books in this series, so I got a ways to go before the end.

Book Summary:
Hanna can't seem to catch a break. She now has trouble with her stepsister Kate Randall. Aria has feelings for a man, Xavier, who she met at an art show; however, he ends up meeting and dating her mother through an online match site. This puts her at risk of hurting her mother again and further damaging their newly repaired relationship. After being neglected by her family and feeling like an outsider, Spencer comes to believe that she is adopted.
At a party at a hotel opening, Hanna and Kate continue to fight over title of "Queen Bee". Hanna and Lucas break up after Hanna tells everyone that Kate has herpes at a party to sabotage her. Eventually, Hanna's father forbids her from talking to anyone except Kate. Aria moves in with Meredith and Byron to avoid Xavier as his true intentions will jeopardize Aria and Ella's relationship. Emily tries to date Isaac without him finding out about her orientation, though "A" keeps interfering. In the end, Spencer, Emily, Aria, and Hanna find Ian's body in the woods behind Spencer's house, but when they return with the police, the body is missing. Wilden sort of pushes it off, and begins the search hours after the girls had shared their story

Chocolate Cake w/ Whipped Frosting

For my brother's birthday I made a chocolate cake with whipped chocolate frosting. It turned out super yummy, a little sweet but very good! The whipped frosting I made this time is by far my favorite!
I made the chocolate cake recipe before but instead of doing a cake I just made cupcakes. I got lots of positive feed back on this cake so that made me feel good! I always get nervous making things from scratch and people not liking them, but this was a success! I look forward to making this cake again and maybe trying a Vanilla frosting and tone down the sweetness. :)

For the Cake
Ingredients:
3 cups flour
2 cup sugar
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
2/3 cup cocoa powder
1 cup oil
2 cup water
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Mix all ingredients together until moist & well blended
3. Bake 30-35 minutes.
4. Frost with your favorite icing

For the frosting:
Ingredients:
I doubled this recipe just to make sure I had enough to frost the cakes
1 cup heavy cream
1 regular bag of chocolate chips
Directions:
1. Bring cream to almost boil….but don’t boil it
2. In large mixing bowl, pour over the chocolate chips and stir until chips are melted and well blended
3. Cool for 1 hour on counter
4. I let it sit in the fridge overnight then whipped it. I'm sure letting it sit for a couple hours will work too.

Got an Upgrade!

Let me first start off with saying this wasn't my idea and I love my 1st wedding ring! My hubby has been saying for awhile now he wants to get me a bigger diamond on our 5 yrs anniversary.....well it's not 5 years just yet but he wanted to get me this ring now just in case in a couple years it wasn't there anymore. :)

I found this ring on Pinterest, I didn't really think it was real or anything but when I clicked on the link and I found the jewelry place that sales them, I was like wow! I showed Shane the ring and he really liked it too. That night after showing him the ring and us looking it up and he said well why don't we just upgrade your ring now instead of at 5 years. I was like wow really are you sure?! Within the next few days he ordered my ring and got it. I loved the ring online, but when I saw it in person I was speechless and it was so much more beautiful! I just love this ring and so happy that my hubby was so nice and upgraded for me.

I still have my orginial wedding ring and I plan on getting a bigger chain so I can wear it as a necklace.

"W" wine cork project

I have finally finished my first wine cork project! I found this project on Pinterest awhile ago and thought it was so cute and wanted to do it for our dining room. I finally decided to get around to making it a few months ago and we finally got it glued and hung out this part week. It turned out really cute, now I'm looking forward to my next cork project. We didn't do the corks like the one on pinterest b/c the W we got we would have been collecting them FOREVER, so we decided to cute the corks in half and I think this way better.

Happy 21st Brandon!!

Yesterday my brother turned the BIG 21 !!! I can't believe he is 21 already, my how time flies and they grow up so fast! We went out last night to celebrate at Margarita's. My brother isn't the huge type to want to go out and party and drink it up on his 21st. We keep his birthday low key with some family and friends. I did tell him he had to order an alcoholic beverage though, HAHA! My brother also isn't a big drinker or I should say never drinks, so his first drink he decided he wanted to order was strawberry daiquiri. He really seemed to enjoy it and when I looked back to see how he was doing on drinking it he was just sucking it down! LOL. He even ordered a 2nd drink, WOW! I was debating on weather I should make him take a shot of something but my hubby said no I shouldn't do that, so of course I was the nice sister and didn't do that to him. But it sure would have been funny!

I had a good time celebrating with him last night and he seemed to enjoy himself as well. Good times!

I made him a chocolate cake, it turned out super yummy but very sweet. But that's okay everyone did enjoy it. Recipe to come soon!
 First drink being 21!
Having a drink with my brother, still crazy he can go out drinking with me now. HAHA!
 All us siblings!

Having fun with his friends.

Spicy Sausage Pasta

I made this for dinner Monday night and it turned out better then what Shane and I both thought. It turned out very tasting and good. We will be trying this again.

I added some seasonings of my own to make it more spicy.

1 tbsp. olive oil
1 lb. smoked sausage
1.5 cups diced onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
1 (10 oz.) can Ro-Tel tomatoes and green chiles, Mild
1/2 cup heavy cream
8 oz. penne pasta
1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper, each
1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
1/3 cup thinly sliced scallions
1/2 tsp. Cajun Seasoning (Added myself)
1/2 tsp. Jalapeno Seasoning (Added myself)

Directions:
1. Add olive oil to an oven-safe skillet over medium high heat until just smoking. Add sausage and onions and cook until lightly browned, about 4 minutes. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
